Purchase

Packaging contents

- Hat uPCIty Lite board
- 25mm PCIe FPC cable with controlled impedance
- 4 standoffs
- 8 M2.5 screws

Assembly instructions

  1. Begin with inserting the FPC ribbon cable into your board. Use the alignment triangle to determine the proper direction, check the picture above for reference.
  2. Attach 4 metal standoffs to the board using M2.5 screws.
  3. Insert the PCIe cable into your Pi 5.
  4. Install the board on top of your Pi 5.
  5. Insert your RTX 4090 graphics card.
  6. Connect a power supply. If you don't intend to use the ATX power connector check the polarity of your external 12V power supply.
  7. Power on the Pi 5 the PWR LED should be now on. If this is not the case please update the firmware on your Pi 5 or enable PCIe (check tutorials below). Use the official 5V@5A power supply from Raspberry Pi. The power input uPCIty Lite power source is used for the 12V 8A rail on the PCI Express slot and it does not power the Pi 5 through the PCIe ribbon cable.

Drivers

No drivers are required for PCI Express on the Raspberry Pi 5. We recommend regularly updating the firmware to benefit from constantly improving drive compatibility.

Compatibility

Hat uPCIty Lite is compatible with Raspberry Pi 5 and other Single Board Computers with the 16-pin PCIe connector (for instance the Radxa 5C/5C Lite).
