A wet weekend at Maker Faire in Hannover ends, and it was everything we expected. As one of the bigger series of tech events worldwide, Maker Faire brings thousands of makers and creatives together under one roof to show off their creations and we think the people of Hannover brought their A-game!
The Pineboards Stand
We brought our full range of products to Germany and the many hundreds of people that dropped by (we’re very good at saying “Sorry, we don’t speak German” now!) were treated to a glimpse of some of our unreleased boards too.
Everybody was surprised to hear about how much we’d managed to create in the last 9 months, though the crazy thing is that we have no intention of slowing down.
3D Gaming on a Raspberry Pi 5 with a GPU?
What about DOOM on an RP2040?
A close 2nd was our teeny tiny FinixPC which was running DOOM on a Raspberry Pi RP2040 Microcontroller-based board not much bigger than a postage stamp!
Understandably so, there was a very different demographic interested in DOOM, mainly to say how much bigger of a computer they had to run it back in the day.
All The.. Cool Things
We thought we’d do a quick round up of some of the cool things we saw around the 3 halls over the weekend. Did we catch your project? Let us know!
Prusa 3D Printers on Display
So much of the event was focused around 3D printing and I was trying really hard to not walk away with a printer of my own. I succeeded, but it was tough
The Prusa-caster
Without wanting to sound like a shill for Prusa, on a completely separate stand there was a fully assembled and functioning Prusa-caster! Some brave soul made their way through a Metallica set list at some point and it was a welcome break from the sound of rain.

Automated Cross-Stitching
Last but not least, we stumbled upon this really cool automated cross-stitching machine (is it cross-stitching? Perhaps at this level it's something else..) that was pumping out custom designs throughout the weekend.
Until Next Year, Hannover!
We really enjoyed our weekend in Hannover for Maker Faire 2024 and look forward to coming back next year with (hopefully) a bigger stand full of the latest and greatest in our line-up. If the rest of 2024 is anything to go by, it will be well worth checking out. See you next year!
